Wide Awake in America

Wide Awake in America is the title of an EP with four pieces of Irish rock band U2. The EP was released in 1985. On the board there are two live cuts from the U2 album The Unforgettable Fire, which was published in 1984, and two pieces that had been previously published only as a B-side in the UK.

The EP was originally released only in North America and Japan. However, the record sold so well that she got as an import plate in the British charts. Wide Awake in America was released in 1990 internationally again.

Songs

"Bad" was produced by the band and recorded on the Unforgettable Fire Tour on 12 November 1984 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England. The Edge playful at the recording of the song at the very last note. One recording nevertheless decided to use for the plate and fix the error when mixing the plate.

" A Sort of Homecoming " is a live recording from the Wembley Arena in London, England on 15 November 1984. The song was produced by Tony Visconti and recorded during a soundcheck before the concert. The crowd noise was added in the Good Earth Studios later.

"The Three Sunrises " ( under "Three Sunrises " known) was produced by the band together with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois.

" Love Comes Tumbling " was produced by the band and also appears with a slightly different initial, on the CD The Best of 1980-1990.
