Wietstock is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald Altwigshagen in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ).

Geography and transport

Wietstock is located just southeast of the main road 109 Anklam is located about 20 kilometers north-west and Ueckermuende about 16 kilometers to the east. In the south, bordering the Wietstock Lübkowsee, at the foothills of the Friedlander Great meadow and in the north east on the foothills of the Ueckermünder Heath. South Wietstocks flows the Great Landgraben.

History

Wietstock formerly belonged to the so-called " Count angle" of the district Anklam. The corner was named by the Count of Schwerin, which included the manor in Wietstock.

The total area of the estate Wietstock comprised approximately 1,000 acres, including 183 acres of forest. In 1936 the estate was in debt to the 400,000 mark and had to be sold in part. After the sale of the estate has been settled by the Pomeranian Land Company partially. It created a greater Bauer place with about 50 acres, 26 middle peasant areas with 10 to 20 acres and two workers' settlements with five hectares. The Restgut only had a size of 125 hectares. Charlotte Horst heard since May 16, 1950 Wietstock. It was built by Count Henry of Schwerin as Vorwerk in 1812. It originally consisted of a house and three outbuildings. After the Second World War and the subsequent land reform also Charlotte Horst was newly settled.

Until 31 December 2010 Wietstock was an independent municipality of the district of Charlotte Horst in the Official Anklam land in Mecklenburg Western Pomerania. On 1 January 2011 was the annexation to Altwigshagen, which was associated with a change of the competent ministry and the district.
