Geography

Geographical location

Wild Mountain is located in the Nagoldtal in 350-630 meters altitude. The old town nestles in a Ω -shaped loop of the river.

Boroughs

To town Wildenberg the boroughs Effringen, Gültlingen, Schönbronn and Sulz am Eck belong. To Effringen heard the village Effringen, the homestead Trölleshof and the houses brick cottage, which form a structural unit with Effringen. To Gültlingen heard the village Gültlingen, the homestead hazel stable and the houses Lerchenberg, Upper paper mill, paper mill and Lower Lower sawmill. For the following parts of Schönbronn and Sulz am Eck each include only the villages of the same name. To town Wildenberg in the borders of 1970 is one of the city Wildenberg, the former monastery Reutin and the courts Käpfleshöfe and Kengelhöfe. In the territory of the former municipality Gültlingen are the deserted villages and hamlets Berfeldingen and Outbound castle Gaisburg and in the former municipality Sulz am Eck is the deserted hamlet.

History

In Gültlingen the grave of the Alemanni nobleman was found from the Migration Period ( dating to about 460-480 AD). Among the grave goods was a magnificent Spangenhelm and a Goldgriffspatha. The finds are now housed in the Landesmuseum Wuerttemberg in Stuttgart. Such weapons were reserved for the elite, which indicates a significant position of the place in this early period.

Wildenberg was mentioned in a document in 1237 for the first time when it came to the Counts of Hohenberg of the rule of the Count Palatine of Tübingen. 1364 Wildenberg was kurpfälzisch and 1440 to Württemberg. It was until 1807 the seat of a Württemberg Office. 1618, the castle was after a fire that broke out as a result of a lightning strike destroyed. It was only in 1698 rebuilt as a castle and destroyed during an air raid on 22 February 1945.

Founded in 1838, originally from Simmozheim pastor Karl Georg Haldenwang ( 1803-1862 ) in wild mountain with the "rescue home for feeble-minded children," the first handicapped educational facility in southern Germany.

The present city was formed on 1 January 1975 by combining the city and the wild mountain communities Effringen, Gültlingen and Sulz am Eck new. Already on 1 April 1971 Schönbronn was incorporated into wild mountain.

Religions

Wild Mountain is dominated Protestant since the Reformation. The Protestant churches of wild mountain and the districts Effringen, Schönbronn, Gültlingen and Sulz am Eck belong to the church district Nagold. The Catholic Church Wildenberg belongs to the parish of St. Peter and Paul Nagold and thus to Seelsorgeeinheit Upper Nagoldtal and deanery Calw.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

Wild Mountain is the Nagold Valley Railway ( Pforzheim - Tübingen - Horb am Neckar) connected to the national rail network.

Buses to Gaertringen and Herrenberg leave every hour, so there is connection to the S -Bahn Stuttgart and Ammertalbahn direction Tübingen and Reutlingen.

The main thoroughfare is the also the course of the following Nagoldtal Federal Highway 463 is reached via the lead to Deckenpfronn and Gaertringen past highway L357 and L358 on the Sulz am Eck and Mr. Berg is the A81 in a few minutes.

On 4 May 2009, launched on preliminary three years, especially for the elderly and handicapped people designed, pilot project city bus. A mini low- sources, Israeli connects all parts of Wild Mountain in the period of 7 bis 18 clock clock together. On certain stretches of maintenance is possible on request. On the Lerchenberg, at the district border to Deckenpfronn, is the radio station of the National Police Directorate Lerchenberg Karlsruhe. It includes a 81 meter high telecommunications tower and an underground bunker.

Regular events

The former Mansion Duke Eberhard Ludwig of Württemberg, built in 1723 for the procurement profession constant concern of the shepherd called a side load to the main charge in Markgroningen.
