Wilde Rodach

The Wild Unterrodach is a left tributary (or one of the two sources ) the Unterrodach in the Franconian Forest.

Course

The Wild Unterrodach rises in two spring-fed streams on the southern slope of the Döbrabergs and flows in a westerly direction. From single tailings ( district of the city Schwarzenbach am Wald ) to its confluence with the Unterrodach at Erlabrück ( district of the market town of Stone Meadows ) runs in its valley the main road 173 yard Bamberg.

Mills

The water power of the savages Unterrodach drives numerous sawmills ( granulators ), the cod mill, hammer mill and more noise in the city wall rock.

River History

In earlier times the river for rafting has been used in this way came from Franconia wood forest to the Netherlands. The starting point was the raft pond at today's inn Bischofsmühle.

Recreation

Every year there is a scene between rafts Grab hammer and wall rock. Along the Wild Unterrodach runs the southern variant of Unterrodach trail or path of the Franconian Forest Rafter Association with a length of 26 km.
