William Coales

William Coales ( born January 8, 1886 in Aldwincle, Northamptonshire, † January 19, 1960 in Sudbury, Suffolk ) was a British long-distance runner.

In the three-mile team running the Olympic Games in London in 1908, he reached third place the target behind his team-mate Joe Deakin and Archie Robertson and won with them the gold medal. On the same day he started in the first round of the five-mile run, but did not reach the goal.

William Coales launched for the Thrapston & District Harriers & Athletic Club.
