William H. Macy

William Hall Macy ( born March 13, 1950 in Miami, Florida ) is an American actor.

Life

His first role as a young boy in the play Camelot. At Goddard College in Vermont, he learned the directors and writers Steven Schachter and Professor David Mamet, with whom he works to this day.

Macy broke his veterinary studies after a few semesters and instead took in Mamet drama classes. Together with his fellow Joe Mantegna and Dennis Franz, he founded the theater group Mamet 's mafia. Together with Mamet, he also developed Practical Aesthetics, an acting technique, which he still teaches at the drama school of the Atlantic Theater Company.

1972 attracted Macy, Mamet and Schachter moved to Chicago, where they founded the St. Nicholas Theater.
