William Smith (actor)

William Smith ( born March 24, 1933, Columbia, Missouri ) is an American actor and former child actor.

Life

Smith began his career at the age of eight years as a child actor in the horror film Frankenstein returns of 1942. Until 1948 he worked in various film productions such as The Road to Happiness, Me in St. Louis and Gilda to see. He joined in 1951 the United States Air Force and then attended Syracuse University and the University of California at Los Angeles, he graduated with a master's degree. In the late 1950s he had some minor film roles again, but also worked increasingly for television. In 1961 he exhibited in the crime drama The Asphalt Jungle is the role of Sgt Danny Keller, the series was, however, discontinued after 13 episodes. Between 1962 and 1965 he played Jimmy Delaney in the series Zero One and 1965-1967 he was in 56 episodes of the Western series Laredo seen as a Texas Ranger Joe Riley. He also had guest roles on hit series formats such as I Dream of Jeannie, The Men from Shiloh Ranch, Cobra, accept, The Streets of San Francisco and Gunsmoke. In the miniseries, rich and poor, he played in 1976 on the side of Peter Strauss and Nick Nolte. In the final season of the detective series Hawaii Five-O from 1979 to 1980, he had the role of Detective James Carew. In the early 1980s he played again reinforced in guest roles, and was performing in The Fall Guy, Knight Rider, The A-Team and Simon and Simon represented in the scoring of the most successful of its time series. He had a major film role in 1980 as an opponent of Clint Eastwood in the action-comedy Full Throttle to San Fernando. He also starred as Conan's father in Conan the Barbarian and played in the war film Red Dawn a Russian officer. He had supporting roles in Francis Ford Coppola's movies The Outsiders and Rumble Fish. Since the 1990s, Smith occurs mainly in direct-to- video productions.
