William Wallace (philosopher)
William Wallace ( born May 11 1844 in Cupar, † February 18, 1897 ) was a Scottish philosopher.
He studied at the University of St Andrews and in 1864 at Balliol College, Oxford. In 1872 he became a Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, in 1882, as the successor of Thomas Hill Green, a professor of moral philosophy.
Wallace is known especially for his translations of Hegel and Hegel - interpretation. He found a close relationship between the positions of Hegel and Charles Darwin.
He died in a bicycle accident.
