Wladimir Burliuk

Vladimir Davidovich Burliuk (Russian: Владимир Давидович Бурлюк; scientific transliteration Vladimir Burliuk Davidovič; * 15 Märzjul / March 27 1886greg in Kharkov, .. † 1917 in Thessaloniki ), was a Russian- Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, author and illustrator of futuristic books. Together with his brothers Nicholas and David Burliuk and the sister Lyudmila Burljuk he belonged to the Russian avant-garde.

Life

Vladimir Burliuk studied together with his brother David in 1902 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and in 1903 at the painting school of Anton Ažbe. He continued his studies from 1911 to 1915 at the Penza Art School continued.

In 1907, the two brothers, financed by her father David Burliuk Fyodorovich, the artists' association wreath / Stephanos. In the same year she took part in the exhibition of the Moscow Stroganov Art Academy with her sister Lyudmila.

The family lived from 1907 to 1914 on the estate in the government of Kherson Tschernjanka (village Tschornjanka, Kherson Oblast, Rajon Kachowka today ), where the father was employed on the estate of Count Mordwinow as administrator.

Vladimir Burliuk was a member and exhibitor of art associations Artists ' Association of Munich, Jack of Diamonds, Blue Rider, League of Youth and Hylaea group of writers and artists.

Burliuk was drafted into military service in 1915 and was killed in 1917 in Thessaloniki.
