Wolfgang Hirschbach

Wolfgang Hirsch Bach ( born January 19, 1570 Gotha, † September 13, 1620 in Wittenberg ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

The son of the mayor Christoph Hirsch Bach and his wife Anna, the daughter of the Gotha 's trade Jerome Poppe, at the age of three years, lost his mother. He attended the gymnasium in Gotha, the leadership of John Helder, later Gotha Superintendent under stood. There Hirschbachwinkel acquired a dignified education, insights and experiences that emerged character and way of life and had a lasting impact. An academic career was already early for him provided. Family

On May 21, In 1604 he married Magaretha ( born September 22, 1587 Wittenberg), the youngest daughter of Samuel Selfisch. His widow married on October 26, 1630 the candidate of the rights Matthias Wendick. From the marriage Hirsch Bach's nine children were born, where three died before their father.

The connection to the elector's home must have been seen privately closely, because at the baptism of his eldest son August recorded the Wittenberg baptismal Christian II of Saxony, Augustus of Saxony and Sophie of Saxony as godfather.
