Wolfgang Mair

Wolfgang Mario Mair ( born February 17, 1980 in Lienz) is an Austrian football player.

Career

Wolfgang Maier started at SV Rapid Lienz with the club soccer and was joined in the winter of 1996/97 season in the youth department of FC Tirol Innsbruck. In 1998, he was promoted by Kurt Jara in the first team and could be the black - green three times Austrian champion. After the bankruptcy of the Tyrolean the striker to SV Traun. After a one year stint in Upper Austria he went back to Innsbruck for the newly formed FC Wacker Tirol. There he took his leave with a strong performance for the Austrian national football team and eventually moved in the summer of 2005 the new FC Red Bull Salzburg. At the Salzburg he had to settle for the most part as a player and change left in the summer on the Mozart city of Vienna direction to the reigning champions FK Austria Wien. With the violets he could win the 2007 OFB Cup. From 2008 to 2010 he played for SK Austria Kärnten before he moved to the First League for First Vienna FC after its bankruptcy.

In the summer of 2012 he moved back to Salzburg for the local farm team Red Bull Salzburg, FC Liefering. He helped the 'new' club here in the First League ascend.
