The winter sports club Vipiteno - Sterzing Broncos is an Italian ice hockey club from Sterzing who currently plays in the Italian Elite.A. The home stadium has a seating capacity of about 1,700 seats.

History

The winter sports club Sterzing was founded in 1948. The mid- 90s, was separated from the other winter sports sections. The team played from 1997 to 2002 in Serie A. The club also played in the Alps league. In the seasons 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 the club sent for economic reasons no seniors team in the championship. From autumn 2004 Sterzing played again in the series A2. In summer 2010, the club WSV Sterzing Broncos tried to climb over the green table into the first Italian league ( Serie A1 ). The plan was to an agreement with the EV Bozen 84 since the association had the Broncos initially imposed the obligation, to find a club as a farm team of the series A2. The Italian Hockey Federation ( FISG ) rejected the request of the association finally starting on July 9.

Of 2011 increased the Broncos with the champion title of the series A2 in the Serie A, but had already in 2012 after a season in the top flight again in the A2 series back.
