2011–12 Serie A (ice hockey)

The Season 2011/12 Italian Serie A1 Hockey Championship began in autumn 2011 and was the 78th regular hosting of the Italian State Championship. Ten teams took part in it.

While Asiago Hockey was the defending champion, the WSV Sterzing Broncos rose from the second Italian Hockey League at the first.

Record champions HC Bolzano sat down in the playoff finals in four matches against the HC Val Pusteria through.

In the main round of the ten teams each completed 36 games. Subsequently, the league was split into two groups, with the teams in their group in each round-trip game met the rest of the group participants. The score from the main round was halved for the second season phase. The top four teams in the main round qualified for the group A, the participants all qualified for the playoffs, where the championship was played, and the top four teams in Group B, in which began the other six teams in the main round. For one victory after regulation time, each team received three points for a win after overtime two points for a loss after overtime there was a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
