WTA German Open
The WTA Berlin ( last official: Qatar Telecom German Open) was a clay court tennis tournament in the WTA Tour, which was held from 1979 to 2008 in Berlin.
The German Women's Open were held simultaneously with the German Open in Hamburg Before 1979 the men.
Since 1979, the women's tournament was held in Berlin. Early 1980s were able to enter with Bettina Bunge and Claudia Kohde - Kilsch two German in the winners' lists. The tournament took place in 2008 for the time being rather than the last time. The Qatari consortium sold the rights back to the WTA. 2009, the tournament has been replaced by the Warsaw Open, which in turn were replaced by the Open de Bruxelles 2011.
