Wümme Depression

The Wümme lowlands is a bog, geest and woodland in belonging to Lower Elbe- Weser triangle, mainly in the south of the district of Rotenburg, and in the north east of the district of Verden.

Location

The Wümme lowland part of the Stader Geest. Southwest it borders on the also part of the Stader Geest Geest Achim- Verden, southeast of the natural environment and Lüneburg Heath in the north to the Zevener Geest.

Landscape

Typical of the flat rolling landscape are a number of creeks, streams and lakes. Mention should be made here of the Wümme that Wieste that Fintau that Rodau that Wiedau or Vissel, also the two lakes Bull. In this original landscape Low German is still very widely spoken.
