Württemberg T 5

1908 awarded by the Royal Württemberg State Railways an order for a powerful passenger tank locomotive to Maschinenfabrik Esslingen. That person, the Württemberg T 5 superheated steam locomotive for use on the Württemberg main and secondary lines was carried out with a very long fixed wheelbase of 4000 mm, to give a smooth run to the machine. By 1920, a total of 96 copies of this locomotive were produced. Three specimens had to be delivered in 1919 to France, while the other 93 machines took over the German Reichsbahn; 89 of them were yet adopted by the German Federal Railroad. From 1959 it began to phase out the vehicles. The last specimen was taken in 1963 from service and stored in Aulendorf as museum locomotives until 1968. Then even this last copy was scrapped.

The Württemberg T 5 proved to be very good and has even been used in some cases express trains on the Gäubahn between Immendingen and Stuttgart. No locomotive remained.
