Name

The river name, "Stupid ", means something like " Oak Brook", as stupid can be traced back to the old -Slavic word " dabu " for oak.

Course

The stupid runs in the border area between Altmark in the south and Wendland in the north, in parts it is the border river between Lower Saxony and Saxony- Anhalt. It happened in its course to the mountains Stupid before it opens at Wustrow in the coming from the south Jeetzel.
