Yamina Benguigui

Yamina Benguigui ( born April 9, 1955 in Lille, Nord ), born Yamina Zora Belaidi, is a French film director, screenwriter and film producer who mainly due to the 2010 with the Civis - was known in Europe Media Prize for Integration excellent television series Aïcha. Life

Origin, director and writer

A native of an Algerian immigrant family Yasmina Benguigui completed post-school studies at the University of Lyon II and then worked together as assistant director with director Jean -Daniel Pollet.

Together with the also dating an Algerian immigrant family director Rachid Bouchareb she founded in the early 1990s, the film production company Raya Films and produced with this 1990-1991 for the television channel France 3, the series Rencontres, in with the cultural and social situation of immigrants France addressed. Then she produced for the TV station France 2 numerous documentaries such as Femmes d' Islam (1994) and La Maison de Kate, un lieu d' espoir (1995).
