Yoko Shibui

Yōko Shibui (Japanese渋 井 阳 子, Shibui Yōko; born March 14, 1979 in Kuroiso, today Nasushiobara ) is a Japanese long-distance runner who was successful on the track and in the half marathon in 2001 and specialized in the marathon.

At this distance, she managed an immediate victory in the Osaka Women's Marathon and a fourth place finish at the IAAF 2001 World Championships in Edmonton.

In 2002, she finished third at the Chicago Marathon, and in 2004 she presented at the Berlin Marathon with 2:19:41 a Japanese record. It is thus (as of January 2009) is the seventh fastest woman of all time.

In 2005, she finished seventh and second in the 2006 Nagoya Marathon.

In 2009, she won for the second time at Osaka Women's Marathon, after they had there only occupies the 10th place in 2007.
