Yorkville Highlands AVA

Yorkville Highlands ( recognized since 7 April 1998) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area is located in the administrative area of ​​Mendocino County. The Yorkville Highlands are between the already lying in Sonoma County Alexander Valley AVA and the lying in Mendocino County Anderson Valley AVA. The bottom of the Yorkville Highlands is rocky and contains a high proportion of gravel, which ensures excellent drainage. During the day the temperatures are lower than in neighboring Alexander Valley but higher than in the Anderson Valley. At night, however, the temperatures are lower than in the adjacent valleys.
