Øystein Pettersen

Øystein Pettersen (born 19 January 1983) is a Norwegian cross-country skier.

Øystein Pettersen starts for Bækkelagets SK. He joined since 2002, first in the FIS and Continental Cup competitions. At the Junior World Championships 2003 in Sollefteå Petterson was fifth on 10 and sixth over 30 kilometers. It was first used in the World Cup in Oslo and then was apart in a sprint race from 45th occasional inserts in the World Cup without outstanding results, Pettersen started initially continued in unterklassigen race as Continental Cup, America 's Cup, Scandinavia Cup and FIS races. For the first time in March 2006, he was able to achieve in Borlänge eighth in the sprint finishing in the top ten. His international breakthrough reached the Norwegians at the beginning of the season 2006/07. In Dusseldorf, he finished second in the sprint, and with this also second in the team sprint on the following day behind Eldar Rønning. During the season, he repeatedly showed good performance, even if he could not show constant at a consistently high level of it. At the end of the season he was in the sprint overall World Cup on the twelfth. The 2007/08 season began again with good sprint results in Dusseldorf. Here the sprint specialist came in seventh place.
