Yuliya Chekaleva

Yulia Vladimirovna Tschekaljowa (Russian Юлия Владимировна Чекалёва, transliteration: Yulia Vladimirovna Čekalëva; born 6 February 1984 in Vologda, Russian SFSR, USSR) is a Russian cross-country skier.

Career

Tschekaljowa was on 21 January 2006 at the Skiathlon in Oberstdorf her debut in the World Cup and was there as a 19 straight into the points. In the following season they took in Sapporo for the first time at a Nordic World Ski Championships in part, where her best finish was a 16th place 10-kilometer freestyle. Also in the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo they belonged to the Russian squad and reached best result sixth in the relay. In the same winter she denied her until then best World Cup season, which she finished in 16th and 14th in the overall World Cup in the distance.

After she could not deny race because of her pregnancy a year she got to kick off the 2012/13 season again in the World Cup one. As the pre-Olympic World Cup Second of Skiathlons in Sochi reached this winter for the first time ever in a World Cup race podium. With another podium finish the 30 km freestyle in Holmenkollen and some other top - ten finishes at the end of the season she finished twelfth in the World Cup overall and ninth in the World Cup Distance standings.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme Tschekaljowa the region initially won the bronze medal over 10 kilometers in the free technique and had two days later relevant anchor leg of the Russian quartet share in winning the bronze medal in the relay.
