Yuri Arbachakov

Yuri Yakovlevich Arbatschakow (Russian Юрий Яковлевич Арбачаков; born October 22, 1966 in Kemerovo, Soviet Union ) is a former Russian boxer.

Amateur

The greatest successes Arbatschakows as an amateur boxer was winning the European Championships in Athens and the World Championships in Moscow flyweight in 1989. His record 165-21 (53 KO).

Professional

It was in 1990 under the name " Yuri Ebihara " professional in Japan. On June 23, 1992 he won his 13th fight as the first Russian world title in the pros, he defeated the WBC title holder Muangchai Kittikasem from Thailand by knockout in the eighth round.

On the basis of this spectacular knockouts, he was rated by U.S. journals quickly from impact greatly, even if Kittikasem had already lost prematurely. Oscar Arciniega, could beat the Arbatschakow in a title defense only on points, KO was also in previous fights repeatedly gone.
