Yuriy Konovalov (athlete)

Yuri Konovalov Semenovich (Russian Юрий Семёнович Коновалов, English transcription Yuriy Konovalov, . Born December 30, 1929 in Baku, † 25 May 2008 Smolensk ) was a Soviet sprinter, his greatest successes in the 4 x 100 -meter had Season.

With the Soviet team, he won the silver medal at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne and in Rome in 1960, respectively. As a single starter in 1956 he reached the 100m semi-final and was eliminated more than 200 m from the inlet port. In 1960, he came over both distances to the quarterfinals.
