Yvonne Desportes

Yvonne Desportes ( born July 18, 1907 in Coburg, † December 19, 1993 in Paris) was a French composer.

The daughter of the composer Emile Desportes and the painter Bertha Troriep had piano lessons with Yvonne and Alfred Cortot Lefébure. From 1925 to 1932 she studied at the Paris Conservatory with Jean Noël Gallon, Maurice Emmanuel, Marcel Dupré and Paul Dukas.

In 1932 she won with the canted Le Pardon the Premier Grand Prix de Rome. While connected to the price stay in Rome in 1933, she married the sculptor Ulysse Gemignani, who was also Rompreisträger. From 1943 to 1978 she was a professor at the Conservatoire de Paris, until 1959 for solfege, then for counterpoint and fugue.

Under Desportes ' over 500 works, operas, electro-acoustic and symphonic music (including two symphonies, 1958 and 1964 ), instrumental concerts (including two percussion concertos, 1957 and 1960, and a Trompetenkonnzert ), chamber music and vocal music, as well as many music didactic works. She was honored as a Chevalier de la Légion d' Honneur.
