Zampaya

Zampaya is a village in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Zampaya is the central town of Canton Zampaya district ( bolivian: Municipio) Copacabana in the province of Manco Kapac and lies at an altitude of 4009 m on the Yampupata Peninsula in Lake Titicaca. The village is located on the northwest slope of the Yampupata - ridge, of more than 200 m rises above the water level of the lake.

Geography

Zampaya located on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges, the Cordillera Occidental and the Cordillera Central in the west to the east.

Zampaya lies at a distance of 159 kilometers of road north-west of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.
