Žebrák

Žebrák ( German beggars ) is a town with 1,909 inhabitants ( 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It is situated in 342 m asl 16 km southwest of the city of Beroun of post Rokycany D5 motorway and belongs to the Okres Beroun.

History

The first written mention of the situated at the southern foot of Pürglitzer forest town dates from 1280th On January 4, 1396 King Wenceslas gave the lazy beggars the city rights.

In the 19th century beggars featured a lively club life. Among the Confederation was founded in 1812 the theater friends were ( Spolek divadelních ochotníků ), was established in 1848, the club Slovanská lípa ( "Slavic Linde "). 1864 followed the Hlahol ( " sound " ) and 1869 the Sokol ( " Falcon ").

The convenient location right next to the motorway Prague - Pilsen - Rozvadov, easily accessible via the motorway exit 34, well developed they city in recent years and the population is growing.
