Zimbra
The Zimbra Collaboration Suite ( ZCS) (often referred to simply as Zimbra ) is an e -mail and groupware solution of Zimbra Zimbra Inc. is operated via a web interface. The user must install on his computer and used only their web browser no programs. Plugins such as Flash or Java, as well as safety-critical components such as ActiveX are not needed. The web interface has been consistently developed from the outset as Ajax application.

Zimbra Desktop

Editions
Zimbra is available in two versions. The Zimbra Open Source Edition is published in more recent versions of the Zimbra Public License (ZPL ). Older versions are subject to the Yahoo! Public License ( YPL ), in parts of the Mozilla Public License. In the YPL is a weak copyleft license, which is similar to the Common Public License. Server

The heart of the Zimbra server is written in Java mailbox server running in a Jetty web container environment.

Zimbra was purchased in September 2007 from Yahoo for about 350 million U.S. dollars, was announced in January 2010 that Yahoo has sold the business to VMware. In July 2013, VMware announced it had sold Zimbra to Telligent Systems.
