Zoran Vulić

Vulić (2008)

Zoran Vulić (* October 4, 1961 in Split, Yugoslavia, now Croatia) is a Croatian football coach and former football player.

Playing career

Association

The versatile defender Vulić began his professional career in the season 1978/79 at Hajduk Split in the first Yugoslav league. In the following years he was there two times Yugoslav Cup winner and played 1983/84 with Hajduk in the semifinals of the UEFA Cup.

In 1988 he moved into the second Spanish League to RCD Mallorca, where promotion to the first division of Spain. After two seasons in the first division Vulić joined in 1991 the first French League for FC Nantes, whose team he in the French Cup final in 1993 saw a red card and Paris SG subject.

Then he returned to his home club Hajduk, who is now playing in the first Croatian league and ended there his playing career after winning the doubles in the summer of 1995.

National

For the Yugoslav national football team Vulić debuted on 30 April 1986 at the test match in Brazil. With the Football World Cup 1990 he was employed four times, including the 1:4 in the first round against Germany and leaving in a penalty shoot-out against Argentina in the quarterfinals.

Overall Vulić played 25 times for Yugoslavia, scoring a goal ( in his last game May 16, 1991 against the Faroese national team).

For the Croatian national football team Vulić played in their debut after the declaration of independence on 17 October 1990 against the United States and in two other games in 1991 and 1993.

Coaching career

At the end of the 1997 /98 Hajduk's former captain took over as an interim solution for the first time the responsibility on the bench. In August 2000, he was the second time first-team coach and took the following summer the Croatian championship titles. During his third engagement at the " whites" in the summer of 2002 to the spring of 2004 he was Croatian Cup Winner 2003 and in 2004 was dismissed three games remaining and his successor again took the championship title. In the season 2006/ 07 he was employed until his release on 10 April 2007 for the fourth time as a coach Hajduk.

In addition Vulić was at EURO 2004 co-trainer at the side of Otto Barić and trained 2008 suckable Energiya Vladivostok in the Russian Premjer League.

Since 28 February 2010, he was in 1961 with chief responsibility for coach at NK Istra.
