1989 CECAFA Cup
The sixteenth edition of the CECAFA Cup, officially Palmares 1989 CECAFA Championship took place from 2 to 16 December 1989, Kenya held. Eight Central and Eastern African teams played for the title of Eastern and Central Africa champion. Uganda won his fourth title. For the first time allowed the hosts introduce a B selection.
Game Mode
The eight participating teams from seven countries played in two groups of four teams. The runners-up played against the group winners of the other group in the semifinals. The two semi-final winners play in the final for the title. The semifinal losers played for 3rd place
