1999 CECAFA Cup
The 23rd edition of the CECAFA Cup, officially Palmares 1999 CECAFA Championship, took place from 24 July to 7 August 1999, Rwanda held. Twelve eastern and central African teams played for the title of Eastern and Central Africa champion. Rwanda won his first title.
Game Mode
The twelve participating teams from eleven different countries played in four groups of three teams each. The runners-up played against the group winners of the other group in the quarter finals, the winners of which clashed in the semifinals. The two semi-final winners play in the final for the title. The semifinal losers played for 3rd place
