2008 CECAFA Cup
The 32nd edition of the CECAFA Cup, in April 2008 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, was held December 31, 2008 to January 13, 2009 in Uganda. Ten Central and East African teams played for the title of Eastern and Central Africa champion. Uganda won his tenth title.
Originally the tournament was to take place in Kampala from 8 to 22 November. Eritrea withdrew its participation back shortly before the tournament starts. For him, Zambia was re-nominated. Ethiopia was not allowed to participate because of a FIFA suspension.
The prize money amounted to $ 30,000 for the winner, $ 20,000 for the second and $ 10,000 for the tournament medalist.
Game Mode
The 10 participating countries played in two groups of five teams. The group winners and runners qualified for the quarter-finals. The two semi-final winners play in the final for the title. The semifinal losers played for 3rd place

All matches were played at the National Stadium in Kampala.
