2012 European Aquatics Championships

The 31st European Swimming Championships were held from 21 to 27 May, 2012 Debrecen ( Hungary) and funded by the European Swimming Federation Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) organized. Thus Hungary was the fifth time the host country of this event, after 1926, 1958, 2006 and 2010 championships were held in just the capital Budapest. Wettkampfstätte

The Beck swimming competitions were held in Debrecen Swimming Pool Complex. The plant had been built specially for the 2007 Short Course European Championships organized. The swimming pool has a 50 - meter swimming pool and an Olympic-size 25-meter warm-up pool. The hall has a total of 2200 visitors.

Participating nations

A total of 570 swimmers were reported from 44 of the 51 organized in the LEN Nations for the pelvic swimming competitions, which is a new record. Most participants presented Italy (49 athletes reported ), followed by host Hungary (36) and Germany (35). According to the regulations of the European Swimming Federation maximum of four athletes from the same country were able to participate in a competition, a maximum of two in the semi-finals and finals.
