Baringo County

Baringo County (until 2010 Baringo District ) is a county in the Kenyan Rift Valley Province. The capital of the county is Kabarnet. On a total area of 11075.3 km ² loud census lived in 2009 555 561 people.

In October 2000, found there - in the virtues Hills - a Kenyan- French team of scientists living about six million years ago and possibly the oldest ancestors of man, Orrorin tugenensis (nickname Millennium Man ).
