Bethausen

Bethausen ( Bethausen German, Hungarian Bethlenháza, colloquially Bethlenhaas ) is a municipality in the northeast of the circle Timiş, in the Romanian Banat.

Location

Bethausen is 23 km north-east of Lugoj. The neighboring villages are Cladova in the north, Leucuşeşti in the east, the south and Cliciova Cutina.RTM in the West.

History

Was Bethausen 1883 by German settlers, the (now Plandište ) came from the large village in the county Zichydorf Torontal founded. At the foundation of the city was named after the estate manager Bethlenháza Count Bethlen, who gave the settlers field next to the church Cladova. The settlers were mainly from Swabia, Alsace, Lorraine and Bohemia. Initially Bethlenháza was inhabited exclusively by Germans, and later were added Hungary and the tripartite division of the Banat as a result of the Treaty of Trianon (1920 ) also Romanians from the Arad County. As Bethlenháza 1920 fell to Romania as a result of the Treaty of Trianon, the place in Beclita should be renamed. The German inhabitants, however, filed a motion to rename in Bethausen. With the support of MPs Heinrich users from Lugoj the council decision, therefore, the community was renamed Bethausen was. The then Sub-prefect of the county Cornel Groşovean supported this decision and the Ministry officially approved the renaming.

As a result of the Waffen-SS Agreement of May 12, 1943 between the Antonescu government and Hitler's Germany, all German -born conscripts men were drafted into the German army. Even before the war, in January 1945, between 18-30 all German -born men and women were abducted at the age of 16-45 for construction labor in the Soviet Union. The land reform law of 23 March 1945 which provided for the expropriation of German farmers in Romania, the rural population deprived the livelihood.

Church and School

One of the first emergencies after the settlement was the building of a school. Up to the completion of construction in 1884 of the classes took place in a private home. In 1912, the present school was built, which was expanded in the years 1965/66.

The first church in Bethausen was completed in late 1885. In 1937 the present church was built and dedicated on 24 October by Bishop Augustin Pacha. The main altar is the Holy Wendelin, the patron saint of the church, dar. On the left side is the side altar with Saint Anthony, and right the pulpit. Economy

The population dealt with agriculture and animal husbandry. In the interwar period, the economic and spiritual life in the village reached its peak.

Through the agrarian reform of 1945, the decline of the farming community started. In subsequent years it came to the collectivization of agriculture. In 1952 the Agricultural Production Cooperative ( LPG) was founded after 1951 already have the machinery and tractor station ( SMT) was born. The remaining land was GAS of the state-owned enterprises managed. There was a vocational school for the training of mechanics. In 1954, the community was electrified.
