Bunila

Bunila (Hungarian Bunyila or Bunyilafalva ) is a town in Hunedoara County, Transylvania, Romania.

Geographical location

The municipality is located in the Southeastern Bunila foothills of the Poiana Rusca Mountains, southwest of the Transylvanian Basin. In the historical region of chair Vajdahunyad district in the county Hunyad (county iron market ), the municipality is now in the west of the district of Hunedoara. Am Bach Nădrab and on the county road (drum Judetean ) DJ 687E is the place Bunila about 30 kilometers west of the city of Hunedoara; the district capital Deva ( Deva ) is located about 50 kilometers north of Bunila away.

History

The Romanian medieval village of hearing the noble family Munia was first mentioned in documents in 1460. On the grounds of the eingemeindeten village Alun were, according to G. Téglás archaeological finds which suggest an iron ore mining in Roman times, made ​​.

Because of the poor infrastructure of the village, the population number fell restive since 1930-1977, after which it went down drastically to 2002. Because of the small population size of the municipality, the mayor feared in 2012 whose fission.

Demography

In the 1850 census, lived on the territory of the present municipality of 1,106 people, 1,103 of whom were Romanians, Roma were two and one was a Hungarian. The highest population ( 1,692 ) - at the same time the Romanians ( 1663 ) and Rome (16) - was reached in 1930. The highest number of Germans ( 38) was 1900, and the Magyars (49 ) 1910 determined. Furthermore, a well-known 1966 and 1992 as two Ukrainians and one each in 1900 and 1966 as a Slovak. 2002 were registered in the municipality Bunila 462 exclusively Romanians. 2011 were counted in 298 households 306 people.

Attractions

  • In Bunila the wooden houses of Ioan Gruniţan family and Sofia Nandra family, both built in the 20th century, are national monuments.
