Lelese

Lelese ( Lelsdorf German, Hungarian Lelesz ) is a municipality in the district of Hunedoara in Transylvania, Romania.

Geographical location

The community Lelese located in the southwest of the Transylvanian Basin east of the Poiana Rusca Mountains, in the historical region of the county Hunyad (county iron market). ( Judetean Drum ) On the county road DJ 687F, the place is located about 31 kilometers west of the city of Hunedoara (Iron market); the district capital Deva ( Deva ) is located about 48 kilometers northeast of Lelese away.

History

The place Lelese was first mentioned in documents in 1319.

About a blast furnace of the built 1806-1810, rebuilt in 1851, on the present territory of the village Govăjdia ( scythe ) the municipality is Ghelari ( ⊙ 45.74078322.79118 ) and was the largest blast furnace in the territory of today's Romania at the time of its creation, was asserted in February 2011 by the authorities of the municipality Lelese that this was one of Lelese according to old maps, as well as transformations of the administrative area 1952-1968. The blast furnace is a listed building.

In the field of community talc, limestone and dolomite were promoted. The promotion has largely ceased. The main occupation of the population are cattle breeding, agriculture and forestry.

Population

1850 lived on the territory of the commune of 1,485 inhabitants. 1,471 of these were Romanians, 11 Roma, two Hungarians and a Transylvanian Saxon. The highest population of the municipality ( 1894 ) - at the same time the Romanians ( 1851 ) and the Magyars (11 ) - was reached in 1900. The highest number of Germans ( 9) in 1890 and the Roma (12 ) in 1930 counted. In addition, in 1992, designated a resident in Runcu Mare (Hungarian Nagyrunk ) than Slovak. Since 1900, the population is declining. 2002 lived on the territory of the municipality Lelese 511 people, of whom 508 Romanians and Hungarians three.
