In the XX. 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich took place eight canoeing competitions for men and three for women. Venue for the sport of canoe slalom was of 28 - 30th August 1972 the ice channel in Augsburg, the canoe racing competitions were on 5 - 9th September 1972 held at the Rowing Course.
