Geography

History

Ellenberg was first documented in 1367. Detectable forms of the name were " Elnberg " (1415 ) and " Ellemberg " ( 1438 ). The village was part of the Back County of Sponheim. From 1934 to 1952 Ellenberg and neighboring Goll mountain in the municipality of Goll mountain Ellenberg were united.
