Langweiler, Birkenfeld

Slowpoke is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Herrnstein. Slowpoke is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

Long hamlet located in the Hunsrück. 91.7 percent of the district area is forested. To bore includes the living space forester's house bore.

History

The place was first mentioned in records in 1037 as Habschied. First appeared in 1237, the name long willere in the files to. The place belonged to the Rear County of Sponheim. Until 1730 the village name Habschied was still in use, where the name comes boring, is not known. After the Second World War, the city was part of the community Wirschweiler. Their council decided in 1965 the abolition of the community and the separation into two independent authorities. Instead, the district bore was reclassified on June 7, 1969 in the municipality Sensweiler. On January 1, 1992 slowpoke obtained by spin-off from this community back its independence.

Culture and sights

Known the idyllic place is also by every three years traditionally held Köhler festival with artisans and farmers market. Because of their particularly beautiful location overlooking the castle and the Wild Steinbachsee the church is referred to by its inhabitants as the "Pearl of the Hochwald Forest ".
