Espérance de Tunis

Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Arabic الترجي الرياضي التونسي, DMG at- taraǧī ar - Riyadi at- TUNISI ), or just Espérance, is a sports club based in Tunis, capital of Tunisia. The club was founded on 15 January 1919 and has since played at the Stade El Menzah Stadium. With 24 national championships and 14 Cup victories, he is the most successful Tunisian football club.

History

Mohamed Zaoui and Hedi Kallel founded the club in a coffee shop Café de l' Espérance. L' Espérance Sportive de Tunis was officially registered on 15 January 1919., The club colors were initially white and green. 1920, when a young high school student, Chadly Zouiten, the club who brought a set of jerseys with red and yellow stripes; since these are the team colors of L' Espérance. Zouiten was club president in 1923 and remained so for over four decades. During his presidency, the football team of the club first played unterklassig until 1936 in the top division, the Division d' Honneur, rise.
