The World 's Most Powerful People is an annual created by Forbes Magazine since 2009 list of the most powerful people in the world. The number of people on the list correlates directly with the world's population. The following applies: A space per 100 million people. There were 67 in 2009 list places, in 2010 there were 68, then 70 in 2011 and currently already 72
Space allocation
Places will be allocated according to the following, among other things, equitable criteria:
- The degree of power over human capital, and financial capital
- The amount of influence on world events
Focus on German-speaking
Angela Merkel was the German-speaking (2nd place 2012) the most powerful person since the introduction of the list, followed by Pope Benedict XVI. (5th place 2012). On the current list for the first time Martin Winterkorn, CEO of Volkswagen with space and with FIFA boss Joseph Blatter is a Swiss ranked 69th Klaus Schwab, permanent President of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, was the first and last time listed in 2009.

The current list of 2013 names the 72 most powerful people in the present world population of 7.2 billion, including nine women (12.5% , peak value since the introduction of the list).
