Hubina

Hubina (Hungarian Hubafalva - to 1907 Hubina ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 493 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Piešťany, part of Trnavský kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located in a valley on the west side of the mountains Považský Inovec. Through the town of Bach Hubinský Brook, which flows down the valley in the Waag flows. The level in almost 27 km ² territory extends from 163 m nm N.M. to 758 m The center is located at an altitude of 200 m nm and is eight kilometers away from Piešťany.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1353 as Hwbyna writing and belonged to the manor of Castle Tematín. The main source of income was and is agriculture, until the 19th century, viticulture was significant. In 1828, 77 houses and 531 inhabitants were recorded.

From 1976 to 1990 Hubina was part of the municipality Moravany nad Váhom.
