Trebatice

Trebatice ( Trebatitz German, Hungarian Vágterbete - to 1907 Trebete ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 1318 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Piešťany, part of Trnavský kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located north of Hillsbrad Trnavská pahorkatina on a Fluterrasse of Dudváh. The center is located at an altitude of 165 m nm and is four kilometers from Vrbove and six kilometers from Piešťany.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1113 as Trebeta writing and initially belonged to the dominion of the Beckov and later until the abolition of serfdom in 1848, the Diocese of Nitra. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the parish of Krakovany. Like other places in the area was agriculture, the main source of income, but the inhabitants were known for cultivation of cabbage. 1828 are listed 96 houses and 670 inhabitants.

Until 1918, belonged to the lying in the county Neutra place the Kingdom of Hungary and came after Czechoslovakia and Slovakia today.

Infrastructure

In the community there is a kindergarten and a primary school, further the community operates a library and there is a post office. The infrastructure including sewerage is well developed. Traffic Technically Trebatice located at the intersection of state roads 499 and 504, the junction Piešťany the D1 motorway is three kilometers away. The nearest rail connection is the Piešťany railway station on the route Bratislava - Žilina, the leading past railway Piešťany - Vrbove not wearing a passenger.
