Huzová

Huzová ( German German home) is a municipality with 638 inhabitants ( 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It is situated in 534 m asl 12 km north of the river Šternberk Sitka.

History

First mention found the place in 1141 as " Gvzove " in the title deeds of the Olomouc bishop Jindřich Zdík. To 1320, the place became a town and was part of the rule owls mountain. 1468 Hussowe was sacked during the dispute to the Bohemian throne by the Hungarians under Matthias Corvinus.

1846 St. Anne's Church was built, which completely fell into disuse after the Second World War and was demolished in 1983 including the cemetery. In 2005, the municipality from the Okres Bruntál was assigned to the Okres Olomouc.

Attractions

  • In the village is a statue of Mary Immaculate from the 18th century, a pillar of the Virgin Mary and a stone cross.

Community structure

The municipality includes the districts Huzová Arnoltice ( Arnsdorf ) and Veveří ( Eichhorn ).
