Charles Castle is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald. The community is managed by the Office Züssow based in Züssow. The community is located south of the county town of Greifswald.

Geography and transport

Charles Castle is located about 18 kilometers southeast of Greifswald and about 15 kilometers northwest of Gützkow. Through the community, the B 109 and B 111, which intersect near the hamlet Moeckow run. Karl castle has a break point on the railway line Züssow - Wolgast port, which is served hourly by the UBB web. In the district Steinfurth the Brebowbach begins.

History

Karl castle

Karl castle was first documented in 1300 as " Gnatzkow ". Since the place was only much later renamed Gnatzkow in Karl Castle, this entry is considered the first official mention. At the beginning of the Good Gnatzkow belonged to different families, so the horn, Schwobe, Buckow and Normann. The heiress Maria Lucretia by Normann married in 1679 Christoh of planks. Moeckow

Moeckow was first mentioned as " Mogekow " in 1447. The name is not interpreted.

Moeckow Mountain

Moeckow Mountain was first mentioned in 1928 as " Möckowberg ". Pretschow was first mentioned in 1485 as " Pretzkow ". The Slavic settlement is not interpreted by name. 1782, the site was last called, then well desolate. The location is not exactly located, but a field name from the PUM ( Preuß. Urmeßtischblatt 1835) points to the place. Now there are large forests of Karl Burger timber.

Zarnekow

Zarnekow was first mentioned in 1415 as " Sarnekow ". The name means the Slavic language means " black" or " unhappy ".

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was registered on 14 March 1995 under No. 35 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
