Kastorf

Kastorf is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

History

The village was first mentioned in records in 1286. The original owners, the lords of Krummesse, 1377 sold the estate to the village at the Lübeck merchant Arnd Strong. After comparing between the city of Lübeck and Hanover in 1747 the manor and the village was again lauenburgisch. In 1930 the estate was settled. Since 1889, the community is part of the District or Office Berkenthin.

Policy

Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the SPD has since the local elections 2008 six seats and voters Community AWK five.

The Kastorfer mansion was designed 1801/1802 by the Danish architect Christian Frederik Hansen and built by Joseph Christian Lillie.
