Křtěnov

Křtěnov ( German Kretinau, formerly Krzenow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located one mile south of Olešnice and belongs to Okres Blansko.

Geography

Křtěnov is located in the mountains of the upper Svratka, a part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands, on the right bank of the Hodonínka. The village lies to the east of the nature reserve Svratecká hornatina. North-east rises the Kamperk (Comb Mountain, 640 m), in the east of Kocholík ( 651 m ) southeast of the Hradisko ( 642 m), in the south the Třešinka ( 651 m) and the Chocholík ( 575 m ) southwest of the Vrchy ( 638 m) and northwest of the Srstkův kopec (611 m) and Kopaniny ( 688 m).

Neighboring towns are Olešnice in the north, Ustup the northwest, Crhov in the West, Rozseč nad Kunštátem, Josefov and Louka in the southeast, Loucký Dvůr Žalov and Hodonín in the south, Prosetín and Brťoví the southwest, Lhota u Olešnice in the west and Malé Tresné and Velké Tresné in the northwest.

History

Presumably, the village was founded at the end of the 13th century. The first written mention of the village was in 1447, when Johann of Pernštejna Kčenov about co-wrote with his wife Bohunka other villages of Lomnitz. In 1482 William and Vratislav of Pernštejna gave their subjects in Kčenov the privilege of freedom from escheat. After William II of Pernštejna 1496 had also acquired the assets of the castle Louka, he proposed to Kčenov along with these the rule Pernštejna. In 1500 Kčenov was freed from Schank forced stately wine and 1515 of the duty transit services for the noble fish. 1520 acquired Wilhelm II of Pernštejna also Kunštát and closed Kčenov to it. At the end of the 16th century, the goods of Pernštejnové were sold. At the other owner was Stephan Schmidt of free Mayrhofen and later the Lords of Lamberg. After the Thirty Years' War, parts of the village were desolate, completely repopulated Kčenov was only in the year 1680. In 1790 lived in the 31 houses of the village of 212 people. 1834 the place had grown to 36 stores and had 232 inhabitants. Throughout history, the village was referred to as Křenov and Ščenov.

After the abolition of patrimonial Křenov formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Boskovice. The volunteer fire department was founded in 1898. In 1900, the community consisted of 43 houses and 299 inhabitants had. 1926, the community was zwangsumbenannt as decided by the Commission in renaming Křtěnov. In contrast, the local council raised unsuccessful appeal. After the takeover by the Communists took place in the years 1952 to 1953, initiated in Olešnice show trials against peasants who he resisted forced collectivization. In 1960, the population had dropped to 209. With the beginning of 1961 the church was assigned to the Okres Blansko. In 1980 Křtěnov consisted of 40 permanent houses used for residential purposes and had 180 inhabitants. Between 1989 and 1990 Křtěnov was a district of Olešnice. Since 1990, the community is Křtěnov again. On the evening of July 15, 2002 swelled the Hodonínka and their inflow Crhovský creek after a strong thunder on to torrents.

The Swan in the emblem symbolizes the knights of Rožnovský of Křtěnov whose grave lay located in Bohuňov, and the great Pernštejnové.
