Lechotice

Lechotice ( German Lechotitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south of Holešov and belongs to Okres Kroměříž.

Geography

Lechotice is located in the western foothills of the mountain country Vizovice the transition to the Upper Moravian Valley ( Hornomoravský úval ). The village is located on the right side of the creek Racková and is drained by the creek Židelná. To the west lies the valley of the Žeranovka. To the north rises the Díly (248 m), in the northeast of Hradek (281 m ) southeast of the Zadnà vrch (423 m), Přední vrch (420 m), Hřeben ( 399 m) and Skala (344 m ) in the south the Holý kopec (313 m ) southwest of the Široký (245 m) and in the northwest of the Na Skále (284 m).

History

The first written mention of the village belonging to the reign Količín Lechoticzie took place in 1342 along with Lhota as part of the purchase of the rule by the Margrave Karl. The village of Lhota went out soon afterwards; it was in the hallway Lhotská. The residents of Lechotitz belonged since the 16th century the majority of the denomination of the Bohemian Brethren. The oldest town seal shows a portrait of St.. Bartholomew and bears the inscription PECZET OBECZNI DIEDINI LECHOTITZ. After the extinction of the race of the Rott Valley Heritage 1762 Franz Anton von Rott valley son Maximilian Franz Nádasdy fell, who sold the rule of the Counts Erdődy. After the abolition of patrimonial Lechotice / Lechotitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Holešov. 1858 sold the counts Erdődy their goods in Holešov with all accessories to the Counts of Vrbno. 1868 a school was established at the upper part of the village green.
