Cetechovice

Cetechovice ( German Cetechowitz, also Zetechowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 17 kilometers south-west of Kroměříž and belongs to Okres Kroměříž.

Geography

Cetechovice extends on the northern waste of Mars Mountains between the streams Olšinka and Kotojedka. The village lies on the edge of the natural park Chřiby. To the north of the Chlum (402 m) and Stráně rise (332 m), to the east of the Brdo ( 587 m), Malé Brdo ( 585 m) and Jankův Kopec (487 m), southeast of the Pláňava ( 569 m) and in the south of ŠPILBERK (415 m).

Neighboring towns are Rozárov, Hoštice Honetice, Zdislavice and Troubky in the north, Prachař, Roštín, Salárna and Koutky in the northeast, Jankovice in the east, Salas and Vlčák the southeast, Staré Hutě Stupava and Prusinovka in the south, Zástřizly and Chvalnov the southwest, Lísky and Kunkovice in the West as well Nový Dvůr Marie and Strabenice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Cetohouicih took place in 1131 in a directory owned by the Olomouc Bishop Heinrich Zdik among the goods of the Church in Spytihněv. Between 1220 and 1250 Cethocoviz was among the possessions of the monastery Velehrad. Subsequent owners was Smil Zbraslav and Střílky, who left the village in 1261 he founded the monastery Smilheim.
